Crime Stoppers is pleased to announce the affiliation of Orange County to the Crime Stoppers program serving Southeast Texas. Crime Stoppers now serves Jefferson, Hardin and Orange County, prompting a name change to Crime Stoppers of Southeast Texas (formerly Crime Stoppers of Beaumont).
Our expansion to Orange County will be celebrated at a 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 20, 2016 in the Orange County Commissioners’ Courtroom with a ribbon cutting ceremony. Special guests will be Orange County Judge Stephen Carlton, Sheriff Keith Merritt and Mr. Larry Beaulieu.
We will also take this opportunity to present the Crime Stoppers Larry Beaulieu Scholarship award. This scholarship was created to support the education and development of sons and daughters of area law enforcement officers and to also honor the visionary leadership of the agency’s founding chairman, Mr. Larry Beaulieu.
This year’s recipient is Mr. Dylan Mooney, son of Darrin Mooney, a Deputy with the Orange County Sheriff’s Office and his wife, Deedie. Darrin is a Senior at Vidor High School where he holds numerous leadership roles.
Please join us in congratulating Mr. Mooney and his parents.
