Crime Stoppers is pleased to announce its Tourniquet Project at a presentation on:
Tuesday, August 12, 2014
Lumberton Fire & EMS Station 1
228 Country Lane (FM 421)
Through a generous donation from the locally owned business Universal Coin and Bullion, Crime Stoppers is making a financial gift to its affiliated law enforcement agencies for the purpose of buying life-saving tourniquets for area patrol officers.
Tourniquets have made a comeback with American Police forces due to lessons learned during a decade of war in Iraq and Afghanistan that proved how a simple, 20-second procedure could save lives. As an essential component of popular “officer down kits”, tourniquets are used to achieve hemorrhage control on critically injured police officers or civilians in the valuable seconds and minutes before EMS can arrive on a scene. This presentation is open to the public and all are invited to attend and help support our effort to equip officers with this life-saving tool.
