At 9am, Friday, September 19, 2014, The Crime Stoppers of Jefferson and Hardin County, awarded Kaylee Breaux with the 2014 Larry Beaulieu Scholarship.
This scholarship is named in honor of Larry Beaulieu. Larry spent much of his career in broadcast with KFDM here in Beaumont. Larry brought the idea of Crime Stoppers to the Beaumont Police Department in 1981 and was one of the original Crime Stoppers Board members here in Southeast Texas. Since the inception of this program we have received over 14,000 tips resulting in over 3,000 arrests, over 6,000 cases cleared and over 7 million dollars in property recoveries and drug seizures.
Kaylee is a June, 2014 graduate of Hampshire Fannett High School, where she was an excellent academic student and very active in choir, a 4 year member of the drill team and during her senior year she served as captain of the drill team.
Kaylee is the daughter of Curtis and Lisa Breaux. Kaylee’s father is a Lieutenant with the Beaumont Police Department and currently assigned to the Criminal Investigations Division. Kaylee’s brother Alex is a Beaumont Police Officer and is currently assigned to the Patrol Division.
Kaylee is attending Lamar University in Beaumont.
